The Bluetooth Mesh radio standard in buildings

JUNG HOME Gateway: Bluetooth Mesh turbocharged

The JUNG HOME Gateway connects the Bluetooth® Mesh installation of the system with other gateways and servers; both directly and via the myJUNG Cloud. This opens up many possibilities – from voice control with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to remote access and integration into systems like KNX.

Easy installation is a great benefit of JUNG HOME. The system is planned, wired and installed like a conventional 230-volt installation, without devices in the distribution board or special cables. Automatic encryption and the self-organizing radio network reduce the work involved to a minimum.

But that doesn’t mean the possibilities are limited. For extended features, the JUNG HOME mesh network can be connected to other systems for building control and solutions from the IoT world. This is where the JUNG HOME Gateway comes into play. It serves as an interface between the secure Bluetooth®SIG Mesh from JUNG HOME and external solutions.

Voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are connected to JUNG HOME via the gateway.

Voice control with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant

All JUNG HOME products and connected smart solutions from other brands can be controlled by voice via the gateway. Using the Alexa app from Amazon and Google Home on the smartphone, JUNG HOME can also be operated remotely, for example to control the heating by voice command while on the way home.

The connection with a Smart Visu Server expands JUNG HOME with additional functions and systems.

JUNG HOME and Smart Visu Server

The connection of JUNG HOME to a Smart Visu Server from JUNG multiplies the possibilities. It offers secure remote access via the myJUNG Cloud as well as extras such as central time control and visualization of device data. External systems such as Philips Hue and Sonos can also be integrated. Operation takes place via the server interface. Display and control are also possible via the Smart Visu Server app on a smartphone or tablet. In this way, users have one platform for two systems – JUNG HOME and KNX.

JUNG HOME and mediola

The integration of JUNG HOME into the WORKS WITH mediola® manufacturer network enables connectivity with countless products from the world of IoT. Solutions from providers such as Netatmo, Nuki, LG, Sonos, Philips Hue and many others can be combined with the JUNG products in this way. To exploit all the possibilities, the mediola® AIO Gateway is required in addition to a JUNG HOME Gateway. Setup and control are carried out via smartphone using the IQONTROL NEO app from mediola®.

JUNG HOME and wibutler

With over 300 devices from more than 40 manufacturers, wibutler is one of the leading IoT platforms for digital building technology. Three-phase meters from Eltako, heat pumps from Viessmann or ventilation systems from Zehnder can be integrated, as can lights from Bega. The interconnection of the JUNG HOME gateway with the system center wibutler pro is in development. Among other things, it will allow the actuators of a Viessmann heating system to be controlled via the JUNG HOME room thermostat display. Or to read out measurements from the JUNG HOME SCHUKO® Energy socket and display its power level. In this way, the wibutler app enables holistic monitoring from the PV system to energy storage to individual energy consumers.
